CRAFT
James is a composer, arranger, producer, and performer; he is a true multi-talented and critically acclaimed musician and has collaborated with directors and producers from all over the world.
From synthesizers and electronics to a full orchestra, James’s innovative work encompasses solo albums, concert hall performances, film and television series, songs, video art installations, and commercials. James has been composing music for over twenty years.
He is Classically trained, and has studied at the University of Notre Dame (B.A.), the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (Masters of Music), and USC (Thornton School of Music) in the Scoring for Motion Pictures and TV program.
He’s best known for his work on the award-winning documentaries PBS’ “Dear Sirs” and Fuse TV’s “Inherent Good”.
James composes for film, television, video games, and the concert stage. His scores and songs have appeared in countless film festivals, and films and TV at Showtime, HBO, ABC, PBS, Fuse TB, Nickelodeon, and Adult Swim, among others.
James’ music has been described as “intuitive and profound” and has been commissioned by the Friction and Amaranth string quartets. His music has been recorded by professional studio musicians and orchestras in Los Angeles, Paris, Moscow, and New York.
James has worked as an assistant and co-composer to Jake Monaco and Peter McConnell on projects for Netflix, Dreamworks, and Disney and an audio mapper for Nickelodeon. As a songwriter, James has toured Canada and the USA to acclaim as a member of the band, La Strada.
