About James

James Craft is a French-born composer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He earned his master's at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and completed USC's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program—classical rigor paired with film scoring craft. Songwriting and band life with La Strada shaped his voice early; today he is especially at home in documentaries, while also writing for feature film, series, and artist-driven work when the narrative fits. He works story-first with filmmakers, then leads orchestrators, orchestra, and assistant composers when the score demands it.
